Brian Hazelgrove

Brian Hazelgrove

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Indiana, Brian was a force to be reckoned with in his younger years and a man who was loved and admired as an adult. He entered the U.S. Army after high school and began his career in military intelligence as a 96 Romeo, Ground Surveillance Systems operator. His tours included 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell and two tours in the Republic of Korea, including duty along the DMZ.

Brian was determined and always striving to grow, both personally and professionally. After earning his pilot wings, he was assigned to 3/17 CAV at 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY, flying the OH-58D Kiowa.

On January 23, 2004, at age 29, he tragically died in a crash near Mosul while on mission.

He is remembered for his intelligence, humor, and deep devotion to his family—his wife Kimmi and four children: Taylor, Zachary, Brandon, and Katelyn, his loving parents and siblings and his friends.
