National Veterans Memorial unveils Gold Star Families Monument

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The gray, drizzling weather marked the backdrop of a meaningful ceremony on the grounds of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum on Sunday afternoon.

Hundreds gathered for the unveiling of the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, which is now on permanent display in Memorial Grove.

September 29th marks Gold Star Mother’s (and families) Day, honoring the families of our fallen service members. Many were in attendance for today’s ceremony.

The dedication of this monument has been approximately five years in the making.
