About the Monument
The Tidewater Virginia Gold Star Families Memorial Monument was dedicated on May 28 2023. The project committee was led by Chairpersons David Keuhner and Maggie Sticklen and included Mary Strong, Carl Dozier, Mona Gunn, and Robert Allen. This group of individuals came together with a common goal to make sure that we never forget.

The Gold Star Family Memorial was created by Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams to remember those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice. To learn more about the memorial, please visit our Gold Star Families Memorial Monument web page.
