My dad had the most contagious smile. He loved supporting the kids and watching them play sports. He would be sure to be there for everything possible. He spent time in Korea and Hawaii during deployment. He loved being a part of the Army! He joined on September 23, 1977, at the age of 17, while in high school, and served until he passed away August 27th, 2017 at the age of 56.
My dad was pretty comical and loved to cook (especially breakfast). He was such a handyman and jack of all trades. He also didn’t put up with any drama trying to come his way. He and I hunted and built things together. He was a painter by trade and took a lot of pride in his work, so when I helped him, I also had to do top-notch work or do it again until I got it right. He instilled a good work ethic and respect and he is truly my hero!
