He was a fine example of a serviceman, always putting his fellow brothers ahead of himself. He was a Navy explosive ordinance disposal technician. He received a Purple Heart from a blast in Iraq. He served 11 tours of duty including the one in Iraq, when he stepped on a concealed pressure plate while entering a house, leading to his injuries. He also has received a Bronze Star for valor and a Defense Meritorious Service medal.
He died in an accident in China Lake California, where he was serving at the Naval Air Weapons Station.
