About the Monument
The Wichita Falls Veterans Memorial Plaza Gold Star Families Memorial Monument was dedicated on May 29 2023. The project committee was led by Chairpersons David Coleman and Kathy Forehand-Chaddick and committee member, Alicia Castillo. This group of individuals came together with a common goal to make sure that we never forget.

The Gold Star Family Memorial was created by Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams to remember those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice. To learn more about the memorial, please visit our Gold Star Families Memorial Monument web page.
